Q.How to re-use hyacinth bulbs next Spring
My Mom gave me a potted hyacinth. How to re-use bulbs next spring?
I simply want to take good care of this plant and its bulbs so I can have these wonderful flowers every year. So….do I remove the bulbs from the pot once the current flowers are spent, when should I cut off the leaves, and then what? Store them somewhere dark and dry until the fall, or I should leave the bulb in its pot (and soil) and water or should I repot the bulbs?
And once they are in a pot outside, will they act like any other perennial, blooming in the spring, then dying back, and coming back each spring? I’ve never done anything with bulbs so I’m really not sure how they work. I want to keep this as easy as possible.
Thanks.
