Q.How To Know Magnolia Seed Pods Are Ready To Harvest
Hello,
I have 6 people that want some of my pods.
I am not sure when to pluck these from the tree.
Is it time of year or, does the pod have to have a full pink color?
I love my tree but do not have a green thumb.
I put an ad in Craigslist & six people are waiting in the wings.
My tree is 12 years old.
This is all I know about Magnolias.
I do pick the flowers & set them in water in my house.
They last for days & I have a sweet fragrance in my house.
You need to pick them in the morning as they only last a day in the sun.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
ep

Here are some tips for harvesting magnolia seed pods. If your tree is a hybrid, it will not come true from seed. A clone is produced via stem cuttings.
