Q.How to get rid of Leather Jackets
I had leather jackets last autumn and they ruined my lawn, leaving mostly brown mud. I treated them with double strength nematodes and reseeded my lawn. I’ve had a good green lawn all summer but have noticed that patches are coming and I’ve found some leather jackets on the surface. I’ve treated it again but can’t understand why I’m seeing full size leather jackets as I understand that they are crane flies that lay their eggs under the grass at this time of the year.
So, my question is are these leather jackets from last year that I hadn’t gotten rid of or a new crop and what can I do to rid my lawn of them.
