Liatris spicata grows to 3-5 feet including the flower spike if you are growing the straight species. The hybrid Kobold grows to 18-24 inches. There are other hybrids so check the plant tag for the one you have. The plant will slowly expand if it has room or it can be divided. If you plan to keep it in the container for 2-3 years, use a container that is 9-12 inches diameter and 9 inches deep.
