How Much Water Do My Newly Planted (From a Pot) Peach and Plum Trees Need?

l2louie added on October 25, 2012 | Answered

I just planted a peach and plum tree. I have looked around a lot and can't find a clear answer on how much water they need now that they are planted and it is late October. Also, I saw some videos where they pruned them severely, like chopped them off at about the 4 foot level. Should I do this too? I live in Las Cruces, NM (almost to the southern border). Thanks much

This article will help with watering your trees: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/tgen/watering-newly-planted-tree.htm

I would not prune them back severely. In fact, right now I would just let them be. For future reference, however, these articles may help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/peach/peach-tree-thinning.htm
