Bergenia Plants

Q.How much can I cut back my ever eager Bergenias? They are taking over the pathway!

There is a bed edging and they are well over it – this is O.K. but they are TOO well over it and halfway across the foot paths.

You should only cut small amounts of the plant at a time off. They need every bit of growth they can muster to survive during the cool season. Trimming should be done regularly and only consist of removing dead or dying growth.
