Q.How Do I Transplant?

Zone 28551 | Anonymous added on April 16, 2022 | Answered

Hi, I love rescuing plants. I rescued this Schefflera today. It’s in a 1.72 gal pot. There were more Schefflera’s in this same pot at one time, but according to saleslady they got broke off and died. Is this pot too big for this size plant? Do I need to downsize pot for now and as it gets bigger move back up in size. I know they like tight roots. I just don’t want to cause it more stress. Any help you can give me will be GREATLY appreciated!!

Yes, I would downsize the pot. Although they are tough plants, the excess soil can hold too much moisture.
