are dying I live near Paphos in Cyprus. Every year my apricot tree is loaded with lovely fruits but when I open them there are little worms inside around the stone. I notice a brown spot on the skin. I’ve tried different pesticides and hang yellow fly traps without success. I have to bin all the lovely fruit and give the worst to my neighbour’s tropical fish.

They are the maggots of spotted winged drosphila, Here are two articles that will help you with the problem. The extension service article claims the fruit is safe to eat, but you should definitely treat the tree. I hope these help:
