Q.spider mites and lace bugs on azaleas

Zone Plaquemine, LA 70764 | Elizabeth Davis added on May 28, 2016 | Answered

How do I get rid of spider mites and lace bugs on azaleas? The azaleas are brownish in color and dried up. Some of the branches are wrapped with spider-like webs. The porch under the azaleas has a clear looking substance on it. What does all of this mean and how can I get rid of the pests?

Here is a link to some information I have shared with others on this issue, it is most helpful. I suggest using a good systemic product to gain control on the lace bugs especially. A miticide will be needed to get the spider mites, typical insecticides will only kill the mites natural enemies and their numbers will increase.
