Q.How do I get my strawberries bigger indoors?

Cobyson added on September 12, 2012 | Answered

I get a lot of strawberries but for some reason they keep coming out very small. The leaves have a little brown spotting on edge of the leaves but does not look like the leaf is dead. Can anyone help me out here?

Strawberries indoors respond well to fertilization at least once a month. Use a balanced (10-10-10) slow-release fertilizer. Organic types are preferable. The addition of phosphorus or bone meal will help with fruit size too. Also, make sure your plants are receiving plenty of light and water indoors. Strawberries should get at least six hours of sunlight each day and should be watered daily until fruiting begins, then water only when the top inch or so of the soil is dry.
