Q.How dead brown is too dead brown?

Zone Central Illinois | apple.blossom64@hotmail.com added on March 13, 2015 | Answered

My fern is 99.9% dead/brown with maybe a half dozen green tendrils. If I drastically cut all the dead down to a couple of inches, do you think it can come back or is it worth trying?

I always struggle with these decisions too!

If you seen green and signs of life, why not give it a chance!

Trim away the dead leaves and stems.

I have had ferns make very good recoveries myself!

Here is a link about indoor fern care.

Good Luck!
