Q.How Can I Make Sure I Don’t Buy Vermiculite That Is Contaminated With Asbestos?

Your webpage on vermiculite lists all the uses and advantages of using vermiculite, but doesn’t mention possible asbestos contamination. How can I safeguard against this possibility? I grow organic herbs and don’t want to take risks.

While the risk of exposure is minimal, according to the EPA, the only way to completely avoid any risk is not to add vermiculite to your gardening projects. Perlite is excellent for increasing drainage, although not as good as vermiculite in retaining water. Here is more:
