Q.How Can I Make Fig Ripen Before the Frost
I live in Smithtown, NY. My trees are planted on the southwest side of my home. They get sun a good part of the day, but not all day. The trees grow extremely well, 6′-7′ high per year with an abundance of figs, of which I eat a handful maybe. Is there a secret?

Fig fruit ripen faster the happier a fig tree is. Making sure that it is getting ample water and is regularly fertilized will help as well as pruning a bit to allow for good airflow.
Figs slow down their fruit ripening in response to stress. Less stress = faster fruit ripening.
