Q.How Can A Trellis Support For An Established Wisteria Be Replaced Without Losing The Plant?

We live in UK and inherited the wisteria when we moved house. The support is a free standing wooden trellis that is broken and falling down. The main trunk of the wisteria has a diameter of about 3 inches and has twisted through a trellis gap.

Untwist anything that you can, and prune what you cannot! These can handle hard pruning, and will come back with vigorous growth with no issues. This guide from the RHS will help:
