Q.holly tree trunk losing bark

Anonymous added on June 10, 2015 | Answered

I have a holly tree in front yard that has brown leaves on branches that are attached to a trunk that appears to be losing the bark. The trunk has a “honeycomb” look where the bark seems to be gone in certain areas. Any ideas?

Your holly may be suffering from a canker.
Generally it would need to be cut out of the shrub.
