Q.holes in the middle of my perennials
Several different plants in my garden end up with gaping holes the middle of the plant with the stalks laying open. It looks like an animal may have lain there, is that possible, or is there something happening with the stalks themselves?

Sure, it could be done by animals or some plants have a tendency to splay open.
Cutting back some perennials mid season can help this.
If you give us specific plant names, we can help with care.
