Hibiscus Plant

Question

A few years ago I was given a hibiscus plant and have always had it inside. It was blooming then but has not done so since but one other time. It is so big and the leaves look good but there are no blooms anymore. I would like to cut it back but I’m not sure if that would help. It is too cold to put it outside. Would sure like to know how to take care of it.
