Hi, I have poittosporum tree around my house its spring gere nearly summer. We got it pruned 2 months ago . The trees have white spots and patches on the trunk so i went and got the yankee pest oil concentrate and we just sprayed it yesterday, but it started to rain alot after 3 hours. Should we spray again? Also how often do we have to spray also has lots of spider webs attached to it some trees are about to die. And when can I fertilise and give some seasol after spraying? Thankyou

Those growths on the tree are what is known as Lichens. They are not harmful to the tree, but can signal that it is going through some stress. It sounds like it may be spidermites. These are not easy to get rid of and you will need to find chemicals that are intended to treat them, whether this be synthetic or natural. There are many, many ways to go about this, but all require persistence. My preferred methods are Azadiracthin, from neem oil, and predatory insects like lacewings and predatory mites.
