Q.Hazelnut fruit stalks die!
This year I noticed that 80-90% of female buds just shrivel so now we have a 4,5 m high and 4 m tick hazelnut shrub that bears only a few fruits.Last year we got 4.5 kg of nuts.So what it could be.Thanks.

I cut the three at 1,25 m two years ago.The three is 30 years old.No idea why the stalks shrivel....

How old are your bushes? A rejuvenation prune can bring the shrubs back into producing.
