Growing Gardenia Plants

I live in the Pacific Northwest and I want to have a couple of gardenia plants How hard is it to grow gardenia plants and any tips that can make it less stressful

They are pretty particular, even in the South where they are native. Growing them in your area will be quite irritating, but not impossible.
