Q.Growing Dasheen for the leaves

Zone 30126 | jramsay added on March 9, 2018 | Answered

I live in the great state of Georgia and my family hails from the West Indies. I can’t find “Dasheen Bush” (that’s what we call the leaves that sprout from the root) anywhere here. Do you suggest that I could possibly grow them in my own backyard and use them for my Callaloo?

This will only be able to be grown in container indoors, or in a greenhouse in your area. They will not survive in that climate zone unprotected. This article will give you more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/elephant-ear/growing-taro-root-for-food.htm
