Growing Carrots In Water

A lady at a summer program showed my kid how to grow carrots in a cup of water but didn’t explain what to do after it started sprouting ..so I researched this.Im confused at your article.. I have a carrot top in a cup of water. It is sprouting.. my kid is enjoying this, but are we actually growing carrots, or just enjoying watching the greenery?
