Green Pepper And Broccoli Plants

Good Morning, My garden does very well. Except for the green peppers and broccoli. I get nice normal size for both plants, but after I pull the first group, they are all small. I mean less than 1/2 the size. And w/the broccoli it does not grow in a ball shape. But the first sets are very good. why is this after the first pick until end of season???? Thank You

On the broccoli, you may be harvesting the side shoots, which you certainly can! Here is more:
