Getting rid of invasive plants

Question

I have a plant in my backyard that I cannot get rid of. I did not plant it, and I don’t know how it got there, but every summer I wage war with this plant. It is the purple passion flower (Passiflora incarnata) vine.

I am not opposed to using chemicals to get rid of it. Thanks.
