Q.Getting Garden Ready For Winter

Anonymous added on October 10, 2011 | Answered

Should I weed wack (cut down) the old plants to the ground)? I have mostly peppers and tomatoes. Or do I need to pull the plants out and turn over all the soil? Will the peppers and/or tomatoes come back on their own?

This article will help you with fall garden clean up: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/projects/fall-garden-clean-up.htm

The peppers and tomatoes will not come back on their own, but frequently people see "volunteer" plants the next year from the seeds in discarded fruit that fell on the ground. Don't rely on these for next year, but do not be surprised if you see them as well.
