Do these flowers grow petals from the center disk?

Yes, some varieties do. It just depends on which one you have. Here is an article for further care: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/gerbera-daisy/growing-gerbera-daisies.htm

Gerbera daisy do not usually develop petals from the center disk. Fasciation is a term for unusual growth, including petals, and you can find pictures on the internet. Aster yellows is a disease that can cause abnormal growth/petals. It affects traditional daisies but I didn't see reference to Gerbera.
