Q.geraniums

Anonymous added on June 23, 2015 | Answered

Why does only part of the buds on my geranium open? The buds that are on the bottom don’t. I have kept some over them for a couple of years or longer.

This can happen for a few reasons. Over fertilization or soil that is too wet can cause this as can too little light. It may also be botrytis fungus. Check to make sure that the geraniums are in an optimal location with well draining soil and, if you fertilize, stop for awhile. If you don't see an improvement, treat the plant with a fungicide to treat the botrytis fungus.
