Q.geraniums

Zone House Springs, MO 630561 | Anonymous added on June 15, 2017 | Answered

My outdoor geraniums are in flower pots in the direct sun. they are growing nicely but the flowering part will die off leaving a large group of unopened buds underneath the dead flowers. I cut off the dead part to see if the underneath buds would open. Am I doing the right thing. I want to try and keep them through the winter so I have been trying to baby them a lot. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Yes, keeping the plants pinched back will make for nice compact plants and much healthier blooms.
