Q.Gardenias

Anonymous added on April 2, 2014 | Answered

My husband has been cutting/trimming the gardenia bushes as if they are hedges. I think that is why they are not blooming. PLEASE help! My questions: When do the flowers usually bloom? When, if at all, should he trim them? I don’t think at all.

In order to prune without hurting blooming, you should wait until after the plant's blooms have faded, which should be in the summer. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/gardenia/when-to-prune-a-gardenia.htm
