Gardenia Plant Inside

Question

I bought a gardenia plant and keep it in a north window. I haven’t had it long and it is turning yellow and the leaves are dull. I fed it and keep the soil moist. What can I do to save my plant? What am I doing wrong? I tried putting it outside during the day for some sun and brought it in at night.
