Q.Gardenia Care

Anonymous added on March 3, 2014 | Answered

My Gardenia has lost its green leaf color and is now a yellowish tinged plant. A few leaves have fallen also. What is the problem and how do I fix it? We are in northern Florida near Ocala.

It sounds like a nutrient deficiency, most likely nitrogen, but it could be a micro-nutrient. I would fertilize the plant with a complete, but nitrogen heavy fertilizer. Iron chlorosis is another possibility. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/leaf-chlorosis-and-iron.htm You may also want to get the soil tested to better identify what the nutrient lack exactly is.
