My four year old huge fuchsia suddenly dropped all its leaves. Has been extremely healthly until now.

I would check for insect pests, like aphids. These will quickly causes defoliation of fuchsia plants. They can also be treated with neem oil spray. Additionally, if there has been unusually cold weather or even hot winds, this can lead to stress on the plant and cause the leaves to drop.
