Q.FORSYTHIA
Our grand forsythia bush has for the last two years had very poor color and blooms. It comes out nicely in a green bush afterwards. We are thinking to do a major pruning and cut it back close to the ground, in the hopes it will rejuvenate next Spring. This bush is probably 20 years old. I call it the ‘extrovert’ for its the first so ‘speak up’ in the Spring. Any thoughts?

Cutting it to about 4 inches from the ground will rejuvenate it. Wait till after the blooms fade to cut it back.
