Q.Firespike plant
I have four firespike plants, one in the ground and three of her babies in pots. When is the best time to trim them? They all are blooming now, so I would think this is not a good time. After they bloom?
Thank you,
Vicki.

Yes, after blooming is a good time to prune back firespike plants. If they get too big, they can be pruned several times a year as needed. If you are in a climate with frost during the winter, you can also prune it back to the ground after the first frost, and cover the base of the plant with mulch for protection.
