Figs Appear on My Fig Tree the Same Time as the Leaves and Never Ripen

Question

The second year after planting, my Celeste fig tree is 10 feet tall and looks very healthy. Problem is the figs appear in early spring with the leaves and grow like leaves but never ripen. How can I correct this problem?
