Q.Fig Trees

Anonymous added on May 5, 2014 | Answered

We have moved into a new property and have inherited a large fig tree absolutely full of green figs which have not yet ripened. I have studied your website and printed off the possible reasons for this. However, when the season is over, should a fig tree be pruned? If so, how and at what time? We are in Australia. The tree at present seems out of control.

Any pruning that needs to be done should take place while the tree is in dormancy. Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/pruning-fig-trees.htm
