Q.Fig Tree

Zone deep south Georgia | moebroome added on August 22, 2012 | Answered

My fig tree on on its second year. It has grown good and has been watered good. Some of the leaves are turning yellow as if winter has arrived. This has been a hot summer so it is too early for them to be turning. Also, it has huge figs on it and they are hard as a rock and have not ripened. I fertilize it with Miracle Grow about once every two weeks. Am I losing my fig tree?

The tree is obviously stressed, likely from the heat and if it is stressed, it will stop ripening its fruit. Try increasing water to the tree and that should help bring it out of its stressed state.
