Just bought a fig tree about 3 feet tall. Grower said it needed indirect light. The leaves are turning brown on the ends. Do I water it more often or move it to more light?

If the soil is getting dry between waterings, then watering it slightly more often is the solution. Brown leaf tips on potted plants usually indicate either that the tree is having trouble taking in enough water, or that the tree is being exposed to excessive fertilizer or salt. If the tree has been recently transplanted, this response is expected until the roots recover. This article explains more:
