Few Leaves On Lily Magnolia.

The Magnolia is 2 years old, and this year only a few leaves. i would like to cover it with a mesh cover system with raised bed included to protect it from gale winds and cold. Do you think it might recover if i do this?

Do you get that much cold in zones 9 or 10? It should be protected from strong winds. Can it be planted in the ground? It looks like some of the stems may be dead so they should be removed. You can tell by scraping off a little bark. If it is green underneath, the branch is still alive.

It also doesn't like its roots disturbed so be very careful when transplanting.
