Q.Eucalyptus Tree Issue
Just moved to a home and I have what I believe is a eucalyptus cinerea tree that was about 30 feet tall. Within 3 months (Jan-Apr) it looked like it was dead as there was no longer any growth. Was told by 2 landscapers that it was dead. I was going to cut it down but then saw a small amount of growth from the trunk. After it was apparent that the tree was not dead, once there was a lot of growth, I ended up cutting the top 20 feet off of the trunk. Now I have a huge amount of growth from the ground up. There is no growth from the top third of the trunk. I have one shoot that even extends beyond the top of the trunk! There is especially 1 shoot going straight up that is about 6 feet tall and am afraid that the next big wind will break it. Is there anything I should do to make sure this tree keeps growing and is healthy?

Hey! That is wonderful! It does appear that you have some new growth, and that over time it will become a new specimen. I would remove the dead trunk and care for it as it needs. This collection of articles will help:
