Q.Emergency…Hibiscus wilt disease.

Zone 56201 | Anonymous added on June 25, 2017 | Answered

I have a 3 in 1 hibiscus. one of them has wilt disease I think. It started on one stem, all the leaves wilted and got all crispy, now today its on the rest of the stems on that plant. I read to mix 1 pint bleach with 2 quarts water to kill it, but what I’m wondering if this will kill the other two plants in the pot that do not have it? Or will they get it as well?? They look healthy today. Should I do the bleach treatment on the whole pot? The roots are all intertwined, so I’m afraid if I
try to separate it and take it out they other two will die?

I need help now!

How is the watering and soil moisture level in your plant? Container plants need daily watering and even will need to be watering twice a day during hot weather.

Do you see any other signs of disease or pests? Are the leaves yellowing, have spots, turning brown or black?

Wilting alone is not generally a sign of a disease.

Bleach solutions are sometimes used to treat Powdery Mildew. Your plants leaves would appear with a white film if it was infected with this fungus.
