Q.eggplant pest

Zone CT | vraff added on August 3, 2015 | Answered

I discovered a pest I had never seen before on my eggplant this morning. It does not fit the description of any pests I have found at wesites. It is a larva-like thing – a short fat worm, greyish in color – that was eating my eggplant leaves. When I picked it off, it rolled itself into a ball. The shell was pretty hard but a lot of juice when I squished it.

Is this the bug in question?:

If so, it is "false potato bug larva".
