hello. I have a variegated bush that has suddenly gone black. when the stems are cut the core is black. What could this be please? see photos below Thankyou so much for helping. I hope the team is keeping well.

The name of the plant would have been helpful, but here are some possibilities. It is likely related to improper watering.
