dollar weed

Question

I had a lawn company come over last year to spray for dollar weed. I followed directions by letting it dry, and let my dog and cat out when dried. They died from the poisoning within a month. So needless to say, I have dollar weeds and no grass. I need to put something down and to lay down sod (St. Augustine) right away. Is there anything I can use?
