Do you bend over the tops of the potatoes when they flower?

Most people just cut them off. Some people bend them over to kill them without opening the plant up to disease. Which you do is a personal preference and either is fine.
The flowers are not needed by the plant and just use up energy that should be devoted to growing the potato tubers.
