Q.Diseased Honeysuckle

Zone SY15 6AZ. Montgomery. Wales. UK | mobellingham added on May 30, 2020 | Answered

recently moved house and acquired a honeysuckle. As Spring has progressed it has developed thousands on green or aphids on each cluster of flowers. I have sprayed a couple of times with soapy water. The insects now appear dead but the plant looks in a bad way – what should I do please, I have considered pruning it to see if new growth will appear.

You can give it a light pruning any time of the year, but save major pruning for spring or fall.
