Q.Depth to Plant Asparagus Seedlings

Anonymous added on May 15, 2011 | Answered

Your info on asparagus was helpful, but when I transplant seedlings into the garden, at what depth to I put them in the furrow? I’m not sure where the ‘crown’ is on my seedlings.

Typically, you will want to keep your seedlings in a container or start them in a sheltered bed for a year before you plant them out. They don't transplant well until they are a year old. After they are a year old, they will have developed a crown and you can follow the directions for planting them out.
