Q.Daffodil Planting

Zone 11238 | biegen@aol.com added on April 4, 2017 | Answered

Our community has a sack of daffodil bulbs that were not planted in the Fall, but stored in an outside shelter in a dry space. The bulbs are still firm. Should we bother to plant them on April 9th? The location is Brooklyn, NY. Thank you for your help on this.

If the bulbs are still firm, and not dried out, go ahead and plant them. They may not bloom this spring, or may bloom late. Assuming they do grow they'll likely be back on a spring flowering schedule by next March.
