Cordyline Australis only has short leaves this year ?

My cordyline Australis had lovely long palm like leaves the first couple of years, but last summer and this year again it has only grown short stubby leaves , but is still alive – see picture.

Do you have any idea why the leaves are so short please ?

I am watering regularly.

if it gets lower than 5 C in your area, then this could very well be the cause of stunted leaves. Giving extra winter protection can help. Heavy mulching can help drastically.
