I seem to have lots of wood louse in my compost bin. Is this ok, or if detrimental, how do I get rid of them?

In the compost, they will not do any harm and when you move the compost to your garden, the conditions are unlikely to be able to support them. It does indicate that you may be keeping your compost a little too wet. It is not harmful that the compost is a bit too wet but it can cause a smell issue.
